Solutions Secures Three-Year Contract Extension with
Geisinger Health System
Contract scope includes managing service for diagnostic imaging equipment and overseeing the purchase, installation, and testing of biomedical
equipment for Geisinger’s new Critical Care Tower
Langhorne, PA, February 15, 2008— ISS Solutions recently announced the signing of a three-year
service agreement with Geisinger Health System. ISS Solutions has provided clinical engineering services to Geisinger,
which now consists of three hospitals and more than 40 centers, since the 1980s. ISS Solutions CEO Peter Brooks commented,
“In 2008, the collaboration between ISS Solutions and Geisinger, particularly around high-end healthcare equipment, has
never been stronger.”
In addition to meeting the daily challenges encountered with supporting a $1.7 billion healthcare system, ISS Solutions is tackling projects that
require being on the forefront of clinical engineering and diagnostic imaging equipment trends.
First, ISS Solutions continues to manage diagnostic imaging equipment service needs, including service for next generation MRIs, CT scanners,
linear accelerators, and neurovascular surgical equipment.
Geisinger’s Former Chairman of Radiology Dr. Dominick Conca says, “ISS Solutions has done a terrific job of ensuring that our equipment is always
in good working order. They work seamlessly with our healthcare team by performing all preventative maintenance activities during off-hours, so as
not to impact patient scheduling. Naturally, we include ISS Solutions as part of our technical team that evaluates and services new devices that we
might purchase.”
Second, ISS Solutions is contracted to purchase, install, and test clinical equipment for Geisinger Wyoming Valley’s new Critical Care Tower.
The Critical Care Tower, a $60 million, 178,000 square foot facility in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, is scheduled to be open to patients later this fall.
Geisinger Associate Vice President John Zelonis, the Critical Care Tower project lead, explains: “We asked ISS Solutions to assist us because
of their in-depth knowledge of Geisinger’s current clinical equipment, strategic partnerships with key equipment manufacturers, and their ability
to identify both areas where critical items may have been overlooked and where costs can be reduced. During the budgeting process, ISS Solutions
reduced the equipment budget, originally over $8 million, by $1.186 million.”
Geisinger Associate Vice President of Supply Chain Services Deborah Templeton is pleased to continue working with ISS Solutions. She says,
“Geisinger is a healthcare system with needs that continually change as technology advances. ISS Solutions designs and improves their service
offerings to meet Geisinger’s many changing needs. They help enable us to provide high-tech, high-end, high-quality medical care.”
