ISS Solutions Assists Kennedy Health System Prepare
for the American Osteopathic Association Biomedical
Equipment Inspection
Langhorne, PA, June 15, 2006—
ISS Solutions,
a
leading provider of specialized clinical engineering
and information technology lifecycle management
services, recently assisted Kennedy Health System, a
New Jersey-based healthcare provider, in meeting the
biomedical equipment inspection requirements of the
American Osteopathic Association (AOA). The AOA
inspection encompassed 1,500 clinical devices across
three Kennedy campuses.
For the 2-week period leading up to the AOA
inspection, Kennedy Health System partnered with ISS
Solutions to augment their in-house biomedical
staff. Kennedy’s in-house group was already
performing at peak efficiency, so short-term
staffing resources were required to insure 100%
inspection compliance.
ISS Solutions checked all
1,500 biomedical devices for safety compliance. They
performed required maintenance services and prepared
paperwork for the inspectors’ review.
Kennedy’s and ISS Solutions’
hard work resulted in a smooth AOA inspection.
Kennedy Health System was assured that all its
biomedical devices were supporting its own high
standards of patient care.
Kennedy Health System’s Director of Technical
Engineering Support & Management Information
Systems, William A. Trueworthy, commented on finding
the right partner to prepare for this important
inspection. “We run a very lean department. When
disability caused a critical staff shortage we were
in a tight spot. An AOA inspection was staring us in
the face and we needed to address their special
requirements ASAP. I called ISS Solutions (and
others) and asked if they could move quickly and
help us solve our problem. I selected ISS Solutions because
they moved so fast. Within days, we had a contract
and people on site. Their employees are friendly and
experienced. ISS did a spectacular job for us. We
aced the inspection.” Joe Hardisky, Vice President
of Clinical Engineering and Geisinger Services for
ISS Solutions commented, “Our business model enables
us to quickly respond to client needs, including
spikes in workload. We deploy a talented group of
clinical engineering professionals, many of whom
share their time among multiple clients.”
Because ISS Solutions augmented Kennedy’s staff, the
entire healthcare enterprise met regulatory
compliance standards. This positively affects the
biomedical engineering department, hospital
administration, and the patients and community
Kennedy serves.
