Rick Tevis, CCE, Senior Director, Clinical Engineering, Geisinger Medical Center
As Senior Director of Clinical Engineering, Rick Tevis leads a team of thirty-five employees in providing all aspects of healthcare technology management for Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania.
As Director of Clinical Engineering for Geisinger Medical Center, Mr. Tevis is responsible for regulatory compliance, fiscal management of a $10 million plus budget, and the delivery of world-class service for the twenty-six thousand plus medical devices in inventory, including several hundred diagnostic imaging devices. Mr. Tevis helped create a best-of-breed collaboration between clinical engineering and information technology, and he and his team emphasize their strategic role in assisting healthcare providers deliver the best patient care possible using appropriate technology in the most cost-efficient manner.
Mr. Tevis has over 33 years experience in the clinical engineering field. Prior to his tenure with ISS Solutions, he served as Research and Development Project Manager for Microterm / Imlogix, focusing on digital image processing, Clinical Engineer promoted to Director of Clinical Engineering and then to Director of Operations for CH Health Technologies; Field Engineer for Spacelabs Medical, and Clinical Engineering Manager for in-house programs at Regional Medical Center, Charter Hospital, and St. Luke’s East in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mr. Tevis holds degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering from Missouri State University. He is a Certified Clinical Engineer and a member of AAMI and ACCE. Mr. Tevis is also active on several AAMI/ACCE/HIMSS CE/IT community workgroups addressing CE / IT collaboration challenges within the industry.
